ART AT SUBSPACE
Where eroticism, fetish and art meet
Art has been part of Subspace from the very beginning. We have always been drawn to work that makes you look twice, moves something in you, or makes you wonder whether you should be looking at all.
Our exhibitions explore eroticism, fetish, intimacy, desire and the body, bringing together artists who aren't particularly interested in behaving themselves.
And neither are we.
From our little corner of the Sablon, surrounded by some of Brussels' most established galleries, we're making space for art that is still too often pushed behind closed doors.
We think it belongs exactly where all great art belongs: on the walls, in the conversation, and occasionally under your skin.
Consider this our small attempt to change the art world from the inside out.
Come curious. Leave with something to think about.
ART AT SUBSPACE
Brussels Art Square 2026
For Brussels Art Square 2026, Subspace joins forces with Jonathan F. Kugel to present Venus Favours the Bold, an exhibition that puts erotic art exactly where we think it belongs: in the heart of the Brussels art world.
Across four days, works by Ming Miao Ko, Rose Mihman, Suzie Pindar, Joel Person, James B. Webster, Mark Kockelkorn and more will take over Subspace.
Surrounded by the established galleries of the Sablon, we will be bringing something a little less buttoned-up to the neighbourhood: bodies, desire, fetish, sexuality and all the deliciously complicated territory in between.
Because erotic art doesn't need a dark corner or an apologetic little curtain.
It just needs a wall.
AND ON FRIDAY, THE ART MOVES.
On Friday 25 September from 18:00 to 19:30, the exhibition will expand beyond the walls with a live performance programme.
We aren't revealing everything just yet. Expect rope, bodies, movement and a few women quite capable of taking matters, and rope, into their own hands.
More soon.

ART AT SUBSPACE
FOR ARTISTS
Subspace works with emerging and established artists exploring eroticism, fetish, intimacy, identity, desire and the body.
We are drawn to distinctive voices, beautifully executed work and art that provokes curiosity, conversation or the occasional raised eyebrow.
We don't shy away from the explicit, the unconventional or the uncomfortable. But provocation alone isn't enough. The work still has to be good.
