Self Tie

About this workshop

Self Tie

This 2.5-hour workshop is designed exclusively for solo practitioners. You will be tying on your own body throughout the entire session; there is no partner work and no interaction between participants. The space is held as a quiet, personal exploration where each person works independently, guided step by step.

We will build on your existing foundations and explore simple, safe elements of basic-level auto-suspension. These are introductory lifts and structured positions that do notinclude transitions. The focus is on grounding technique, cultivating body awareness, and developing a steady, confident relationship with your ropes.

To participate, you should feel comfortable with essential ties such as the lark’s head, square knot, half hitch, and single- and double-column ties. A basic understanding of frictions is strongly recommended to support both safety and ease.

Wear fitted, comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.

Please bring at least three jute or hemp ropes (5–6 mm thickness, approximately 8 m in length). Ropes can also be purchased before or after the workshop.

A follow-up workshop for those wishing to continue their self-tie journey will be introduced in early 2026. This next step will offer deeper exploration and new layers of technical and embodied practice for those who feel ready to evolve their skills further.
