6 week program #1

6 week program #1

From the first knot to semi-suspension:

a six-week journey

From basic Shibari to semi-suspensions in 6 weeks? YES YOU CAN!

Our six-week program is designed to guide rope enthusiasts from absolute beginners to confident semi-suspension practitioners. Each Wednesday evening, we explore a new chapter in the art of Shibari, moving gradually from the foundations toward more complex techniques, while deepening your understanding of rope, connection, and control.

Through consistent hands-on practice, surrounded by others who share your curiosity and passion, you will not only learn how to tie, but how to feel the rope, to read its tension, its rhythm, and the story it tells between two bodies.

We believe this program is the most beautiful and effective way to begin your Shibari journey. The steady rhythm of weekly classes allows you to build both muscle memory and confidence, ensuring that each skill is woven into your body through repetition and reflection. Just as importantly, you learn with and from one another, discovering how each pair brings a unique energy, perspective, and rhythm to the ropes. In this shared learning, community forms: quiet, respectful, and deeply connected.

That said, we understand that committing to six weeks may feel like a big step. Especially if you’re still unsure whether Shibari is for you. For those who wish to explore the art before fully diving in, we offer a short introductory workshop called Tasting the Ropes. It’s a gentle and playful introduction to the world of rope, where you can discover the sensations, the pace, and the atmosphere of our teaching style before deciding to continue your journey.

The next six-week program begins on Wednesday, 4 March. You may join alone or with a partner. Solo participants will be paired with another participant so that everyone can experience both sides of the rope. Each class is structured for both partners to tie and be tied. If you prefer to stay in one role, we recommend attending with a dedicated partner.

Rope is available for purchase or rental directly at Subspace. We offer hemp ropes: traditional, natural fibers favored for their strength, softness and responsiveness. You may buy them before or after each class, or visit our webshop
